    Who runs one 24/7?

I do computer work for my local reef shop and in exchange for fixing his PC he recently gave me one with all the media and pump.

I notice that my P. Xenia gets unhappy from Phosphates I normally have to do 2-3 week water changes because of this even though my Calc and Mag levels are still around 480 and 1480 Calc Mag. Is it safe to run one 24/7?

    TIA,

    Beamerhack

+1. I actually run 2 reactors on my 90g. One is filled with Chemi Pure Elite, the other with Purigen.

Phosphates are about the only thing that climbs in my tank now. I am trying to get them to remain 0.0ppm.

Does it pull out good things like Carbon?

That's funny. I was just having this conversation with the guy that works at my LFS yesterday when I was in there buying some GFO. He asked how often do I run this stuff and was surprised to hear me say 24/7. Then I started to question whether I should be running this 24/7, but I guess I'm not alone.

The only good thing carbon removes is Iodine and most tanks have it in excess of NSW levels anyway unless they have a lot of macroalgaes, sponges, or turf algaes.
