    What is considered high phosphate? I am at 0.14

    .03 is where I shoot to hang. In my book .1 is too high, however I have seen my reef up to .2 at times (when I was feeding poor phosphate rich food and using a media that was high in phos in my reactor)

    Just started GFO 2 days ago- I feed alot of frozen food. 1 cube every other day or so plus dried foods

    and it is PPM, this would help explain the algae

    Try defrosting the frozen cubes in RO/DI water, then pour the water down the drain through your net. After that just throw the solids in. You can avoid a good bit of the phosphate from ever coming in that way. The GFO will definitely help as well.

    Thanks Grim, I just had a major upgrade on my skimmer (coralife for a 65 to a vertex for a 100 gallon)

    Very nice!! You will have it back down in no time. Don't be overly worried about your level anymore then. A new skimmer, some GFO and a little care in your feeding is all that can be asked for in a cure! And you aren't so high as to really hurt anything, besides fueling algae growth.
