Anyone know if there is a limit on number of photo's you can store/post there?

I passed 1400 images some time ago (not just aquarium pics - :p - though some here may think so. ;) )

I keep waiting for maximum # message, but never comes.

Wonder :-/ will these pics stay there for ever and ever (however long that is)

Good question though...I have no idea if there is a limit to how many pics any one person can store on Photobucket.

Hey! I don't know what's the limitation per person. However, the theoretical addressability of modern systems is 64bits = 2^64 = 17592186044416 MB of data. Assuming everybody uses 10 Mpix JPEG file (fine) that is around 4MB : 17592186044416/4 = 4398046511104 files per one cluster node :) In other words, one big server running 64-bit operating system with 64-bit processors can adress up to: ~4398046511104 photos :)

Ok, we are starting to deal with numbers that are hard to comprehend...

Somebody once told me to visualize one trillion. Imagine a square of one trillion beer cans.

Each side of square would be 37 1/2 miles...

Now that is allot of beer!

Kind of sobering when one sees national debt numbers..:p

I have math phobia. Anything more complicated than "simple" math and my eyes glaze over

That is from all the alcohol your drinking that does that. ;)

Photobucket will all be determined on who is running the server. Just like Matt could take this site down with the flip of a switch.
