My tank was a mess in the first two pics, my RO/DI water and saltwater I was getting from the LFS was loaded with phosphates, as you will see in the pics with the PC lighting (dimmer). A couple of days ago I added two turbo snails, and they made short work of the algae in my tank. I also countered it with my own DI unit, and Kalk dripping to precipitate the remaining phosphates. So here are the pic comparisons, I swapped out 2 of the Current T5 stock bulbs for two UVL bulbs, 1 super actinic, and 1 12k. I went from an Orbit 80w PC to a 96 Watt Nova Evtreme single light reflector.

You can also see the zoas on the left purpled up from a brownish colorafter a few days. Of course I acclimated them, by moving them to the bottom of the tank. My Xenia were almost killed by a flow accident.. don't ask.. so they are recovering well. The hairy mushroom I traded to make room for LPS and SPS I'm getting tomorrow. Yippee! I'm starting my own tank thread tonight.. laters!

you will like the t5's they put out 3 times the par(usuable light) that pc do. honestly if you look up some of the par ratings you'll find theres nothing power about them, except maybe wasting it.
