Photosynthesis Coral ??

    Reefnjeff, yours appears to be an oxygen bubble, similar to the second image that m2434 posted.

    yes I see! so its probably something on or around the Coral that may be making or catching the bubbles, what threw me off was I never seen that until I got the MH light.

    The oxygen bubble in the pictures I posted was not an external bubble that got stuck to the coral. I sat and watched it develop in the coral tissue and actually tore through the tissues (not the mouth).

    Remember photosynthesis is CO2 + H20 -> Energy + 02

    The coral can diffuse extra O2 through it's tissue, but slowly. When the coral looses control of it's symbiotic algae, and the algae works too efficiently, the 02 can not be released fast enough and accumulates.

    This morning no bubbles there, I turn on the MH lights in about half an hour, i will be watching that close.
