How often are you supposed to feed your corals Phytoplankton? Doesn't say it on my bottle unless it is the once a week part?

I have never fed them. Target feed the frogspawn brine shrimp every once in a while, that's about it.

What types of corals do you have? Some need lots of phyto, like flame scallops. BTW I feed my tank phyto about once a week.

If the coral is photosynthetic like most of ours are, they technically never need to be fed; they get all their nutrients from the photosynthesis of the zooxanthellae in their tissue.

If you adhere to the instructions on the label of the bottle of phytoplankton, you'll be using it at least a few times a week. Those vendors like to sell their product! While that probably wouldn't hurt the corals, it would bring you that much closer to raising the level of unwanteds in your water.

Like Shehan said, I spot feed my frogspawn occasionally. Sometimes a few times a week, sometimes once every few weeks. When I spot feed the frogspawn, I do the same for my bubble too, but neither would die without the krill.

most people feed large corals and anemones by target feeding, but the rest of the corals feed mainly from the salt mix you might can dose 5ml per every 50g of water once or twice a week depending on how many corals you have and do check the iodine levels if you do.

Feed it the little frozen shrimps in the frozen food area of the local grocery salad shrimp some call them and popcorn they are called in other area ? But I simple chunk one of them in ever month or so for fast growth.. Or buy a few raw prawns and cut into chunks and freeze then and feed as needed I use a shot glass and put some tank water in it to put the frozen shrimp is to thaw. I fed my elegance and all tentacled critters this for yrs .
