OMG......Dennis Tagrin and Randy Reed are still fighting over this stuff? LOL

I dose live phytoplankton once and once only....when I set up a brand new tank. After that, I allow the culture to reproduce on it's own. (However, I've never had a lot of clams....I only wanted to feed things like featherdusters).

Please note, that contrary to popular belief, most corals do not feed off of phyto.

You know.......I've personally looked at DT's Phyto formula and Dr. G's Phyto formula (which I've always used --> Home Page) under a microscope and I've got to say.......I would never buy DT's. We took samples from 4 newly arrived samples at the LFS and it just wasn't the same. There was a lot of die off. I was amazed at how active the Dr.G's formula was! Just wanted to throw my 2cents in here.

I called and talked to the DTs person and she admitted that any phyto that is put in a bottle eventually dies off as there is no food source for them. She said they brought out the "live" version because of customer demand but will tell you all will be dead within the date marked on the bottle. If the Dr. Gs has more live in their bottled phyto, use it up!
