I hear a lot of bad about Kent's PhytoPlex.
I want to start feeding live Phyto and other better types of live food for coral's. I have a short list, from older post. The ones here that use live phyto and food's similiar would you post the names here. I want a good variety so as not to feeed the same all the time. And also give refridgerated shelf time for the product if you do'nt mind. Thank you for your time.

99% of the corals won't even eat live phyto. Almost all of them are meat-eaters.

With that said, you can feed corals with phyto indirectly. Some animals eat phyto, spawn, and then the corals will eat their gametes. Additionally, if you feed enough phyto you can have a bacteria bloom and many corals will eat the bacterioplankton. Some corals feed substantially off of DOM (Dissolved Organic Materials)....Xeniidae would be a good example. They can feed directly from the additional nutrients in the water.

I had used DT's phyto, but now I use Reef Nutrition's Phyto Feast. I switched cause the new stuff actually sinks and it has a few months shelf life. And instead of mixing coral food in water I will mix in phyto.

Is this something that dissolves in the water?

    There's freeze-dried phyto too.
