I was going through some old pics I took and came across this one. It's the Space Shuttle Discovery's final piggyback ride to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. She flew directly over my house off the coast. 4/17/2012

edit: I added no filters when I took this pic, it just happened to come out this way.

I would have loved to see that.
I watched a time-lapse of the journey it took through the streets. I'll have to try and find that.

if you don't mind, i'd like to add to the pics later on tonight when i get home....We had the Enterprise shuttle come into NY when they donated it to the Intrepid Museum. I have a few picks close up of the shuttle strapped on the 747 that I took while working here at the airport. Truly a great achievement in the history of aviation.

Attach any photos you want! I've had the privilege of growing up here since I was two years old. My Dad is a retired NYC cop and moved us here when I was two. He was tired of shoveling snow! I have seen every shuttle launch. I just wish I wasn't so young for the first ones so I can remember them better. I do remember the Challenger explosion. It was a very sad day. We were all sent home from school for the rest of that week. I could only imagine the teachers thoughts as all us students Pre-K up to 8th grade were out in the parking lot watching it fall to pieces.. I think Disc Channel is airing a special on that later this month.
