I took some programming classes in highschool so I think I might give it a shot. I'm not using it as an autotop off either. The only sensor I would be using would be the temp, and thats just to turn on and off the heater and a fan. Other then that it would be for my lights so I would get the advanced version.

    Hey ontop,

I read on the site they stopped supporting the advanced version. I think the idea now is to just tweak the libraries and simple code sketch available to download. Haven't really done much with it yet. Working on making a mount/stand to hold the controller currently and also need to get a usb extension to reach the computer.

Sorry to hear about the problems pink. Like ontop, I'm more interested in parameter tracking, lighting and the wavemaking functions. I was thinking about mounting one of the ATO sensors in the skimmer to cup to cut power if it were to overflow. I still have to do some more testing of all the functions. Hoping it goes well but it's reassuring to know support is provided not only by Roberto, but a growing community of users willing to help.

reason i purchased this was i read it was a unit that even a novice could use and program. well im not finding that to be true. i feel this is best suited for the techies/ computer geeks, i feel they would love this controller... and all the input from other techies on the reefangel site, that could have this controller doing almost anything. i just want it to do certain things and be done with it. im hoping the new auto top offs work. than i will just leave it be and be happy... will update when they arrive.

And yes i agree Roberto has got right back to me when ever i had a question. i just would like to make it clear... it really is meant for those who know a bit about programing. well thats my thoughts.
i honestly dont think the new auto top off sensors will fix it. i feel its a program error. since i did the test as he said and the jumping of the plug in for the switch ( i guess you would call it ) did not trigger the unit to turn the auto top off pump on. Roberto as always is on top of it and im sure the problem will get resolved. i really feel he is the Angel . he puts so much time in. and is always willing to help to resolve a problem.

Roberto sent the new sensors . They didnt work, so than a new controller was sent. The ATO seemed to work, well sort of it got stuck on while testing it so it kept pumping water from the reserve. Was it a controller issue? or user issue? that i cant honestly say, After that i gave up and bought a
JBJ Automatic Top Off System. the jbj ato works great... and i now just use the reef angel for my lights and pumps at this point. One day i will get the Apex and sell this unit cheap to a techie who wants to play with it. im not one. i want a unit thats set up already for me.
