    A possibility could be dead stuff in the rocks. A guy near me had added supposedly clean Pukani base rock that had that had a lot of die-off stuck inside of it. One reason that it's always a good idea to cycle rocks before you add them to the DT.

    That's what I'm thinking but I'm worried that I didn't detect a ammonia spike. I added 100 pounds of rock. Live and learn.
