picked up a 40 G, black plastic messed up

    Well, i picked up the 40 today. the glass is clean, but the black plastic/rim is pretty messed up on one of the sides. You guys think i can sand it down with some 150 grit sandpaper and then paint over it? my biggest concern is what kind of paint should I buy? I need something aquarium safe (obviously)... thanks!

    That should be fine.
    You can use Krylon Fusion spray paint if it will be exposed to water, that is reef safe.

    I don't know what brush on paints are reef safe.
