Realize I haven't updated in a while - I have been checking in though and reading the threads. I've finally started making some progress on my brood stock set up here are some pics:

I've set it up using 4 20g longs (top 2 divided in 3 sections each / lower 2 in 2 sections each) which will house 10 pairs. Each section has it's own overflow / return.

The tanks are offset and will use one light for all of them.

The sump is made up of a raised 20g high which will house just LR and will overflow into a 40 bdr which will house my euro reef 180 skimmer, a UV sterilizer and a fuge.

That looks like a really good setup. What kind of light are you planning on using? Also, did you paint the dividers black as well?

Edit: I'm looking forward to seeing it up and running! :)

The set up will house 10 pairs.

The returns will be two pumps - one for each level.

Lighting is a 60" 4 bulb T5 unit that will be suspended over the middle of the set up so it will light all the tanks.

I used black acrylic so no need to paint.

Yeah... I'm all about painting the outside of the tank but not a fan of it in the tank. There are a lot of breeders who have no problem using clear acrylic dividers but I don't see the point in stressing your brood stock if you don't have to. Plus I had a bunch of it laying around so the price was right.

Very good point about not painting stuff that goes inside the tank. The price is always right when the stuff is just laying around lol.

Not much to update yet... The drains are done and this weekend I'm working on the returns and baffles for the sump. I don't get much time during the week with work and the kids practices or whatever. This morning I just have time to feed fry, brood stock, rots and check a few web sites before heading to my kids games.

My oldest boys football team is going into his last regular season game today against the other team tied for first place. Winning team goes to state so it's a pretty big thing today. Should be a great game and a lot of fun. Doesn't leave me much time to work on my stuff - but I don't mind!

That should be a really exciting game. I hope you all have fun! My time is coming for all of that though. My youngest three are almost 4, 2.5 and 6 months old. ;D
