So, after seeing the article on Advanced Aquarist about the EcoReef One, I have decided to try my own in my Pico that I tore down a couple months ago. I am going to use Fiji rock that I nuked about 6 months ago. I will be using a small heater and a pico filter along with a Rio 90. For now, my lighting will be the stock 2x9w PC light. I do have a 2X18w Coralife fixture, but I am trying to get the clean look without anything covering the top of the tank. Once I save up some cash, I will go the LED route. I am going to attempt to do everything as close as possible to the way the EcoReef was established. I sure hope I am not infringing on any ideas, please let me know if I am. Today I plan to get the tank cycling and research some LED bulbs/ fixtures.

What I like about this plan is that it is so unconventional. No water testing, no skimming, no dosing, no live sand, no live rock. I will initially start with some zoas and mushrooms, but once the tank is more mature and I get the new lighting, I will incorporate some LPS, and hopefully, like the EcoReef One, house an elegance coral someday. Well, enough talk, time to work. I will post some pictures later tonight!

And it is now that I realize that i spelled "build" as "built"... and mods want to help me out? :) (Fixed. Thanks Dingo)

Okay, so unfortunately, by new yellow tang in my 100g wouldn't eat and ended up dying, and so I ended up using one of his eyes to cycle the pico... I know, a bit weird, but it was improvising. As for now, I have a heater, a mini 3 stage filter, and a powerhead just for cycling purposes, they will come out later. Here is a picture of the tank cycling.
