Picotope Pic Updates as Promised!!

Here are the pics I promised last night. This tank was born Dec 27 2009. I have had some bad luck with some Chromis, and had a Yellow Clown goby jump out. I have a custom cut glass lid being done at the glass shop. I will try another Clown Goby when the lid comes in. I added a Green Zoa Rock, and I fragged a Cabbage from the 150g tank. I also added 3 crabs and 3 snails. i am just now coming out of the Diatom bloom. Also a little Hair Algae. All in all, it is starting to shape up. I do 2 water changes (50%) from the big tank weekly.

It has been intersting so far...alot different than the large tank!!! But fun!

 

New Custom Glass Lid

Well my custom lid is here.. I made this template from a 3.00 piece of acrylic from Home Depot. Used a Rotozip saw and table saw. After alot of patience and sanding. it looked like this.



I then took it to the glass shop, and after a little talking, we decided to omit the light hole, in case I ever wanted to upgrade the light. He also said the cuts would be tricky on 5/16 glass but he would try his best. Well he copied it exactly, and we ommited the small tab on the right. It would probably break off when cutting.

And here it is from the front. No more flying Clown Gobies (I will replace him this weekend!!

If you don't like the glass you could get some bird netting to keep the fish in.
