Just saw the thread and the pico looks great. The new clown goby looks like he's settling in nicely. Hope all goes well with him. One question though, how's the gas exchange going to work with that solid glass lid?

I was kinda wondering about that, but the lid is not sealed. The water is still flowing through the filter, and there are small openings where the cords and heater are. Being he will be the only fish, I hope it will be enough.

So what are you waiting for??? The easy part is using the water from the other tank for water changes...Otherwise the sand and rock is minimal!:)

I used live rock, Nutrafin cycle, 100% water from existing reef, some Sintered glass rings from the 60 cannister filter, a hitchhiker Astra snail and some coral frags from the existing reef

a sort of instant aquarium really - as only the tank body was new.

availability really Robman, Nano salt water tanks dont seem to be a very popular branch of the hobby out here, so the large aquarium market I visit
rarely has any fish in that are small enough, I may just stick with shrimps
as they are active once they overcome their shyness

one benefit of this fishless tank is amphipods and copepods - incredible
if I watch my large reef at night (turn the actinics back on) I see loads of both, but never in the daytime

on the nano, they seem to understand there is a lack of predation and I see amphipods especially running around all through the day
so I have plenty of life in there , just not the colourful life I normally have in tanks
