My pictures were all taken on a Canon PowerShot (it's a point & shoot, 10 MP). My camera has a macro mode and I always switch to manual when photographing the tank. Ideally, the best macro shots can be made with the camera on a tripod, the powerheads and pumps cut off in the tank, and even the camera set on a timer to prevent even the tiniest bit of shake from pressing the button. HOWEVER, I'm MUCH too lazy for any of that. I just hold the camera and hope for the best. ;D I couldn't even take pictures right now because the pistol shrimp and goby and digging and flinging sand everywhere!

Let me rephrase my question. When using the Macro option, are you suppose to "zoom-in" from a distance or bring the camera in close almost hitting the front glass? lol Thanks

I get right up against the glass - it used the make the fish go nuts, but they don't even care now. :)

I didn't know this thread existed until now...

    :D

And for every great picture triplemom puts up, there's probably 5 or 10 "what the heck is that" pictures taken in the attempt. All of which can be found on this very computer. :p

EXACTLY, which is why triplemom had to buy a new computer! The hard drive was being taken over by her tons of useless pictures! :p
