Thought I'd share some pics from our trip to Riviera Maya last month (finally got around to editing them). Some of these I'm including the link to the actual pic so you can view larger if you like.

On the way back from the edge of the Preserve that we walked down to.

Protected sea turtle nests at a resort down from ours.

One of the houses. There were MUCH nicer ones along the way. As we got to all those rocks you see, I realized there were iguanas everywhere. I counted at least 10 on various rocks.

Amazing photos. I just got back from Sarasota, FL and didn't see such beauties. I bet the beaches were real nice

One of our friends asked if we saw the stingray. I told her I'd seen some disturbed sand, looked around & found myself alone, and started heading for the others LOL. Got to looking closely at all these pics, and darned if I didn't get part of the stingray in it. Top left just off the edge!

Yeah, the beaches were great. Some of the resorts are having to sandbag to keep the beaches, but last year there was barely any beach so what they're doing is working. This was the first time we'd seen sea turtle nesting areas, though.

The reef is still recovering from Hurricane Wilma back in '05. It was a very devastating one to that area. The guy told us that most of the coral was just brown in color where there was a lot of color previously. The only color I saw were purple sea fans, green and blue branching corals that looked like they were just getting started, and green anemones.

Kept seeing these tangs. Are they just a morph of the blue tangs, anyone know? Blues were the only ones I found listed in the snorkeling ID sheets I found online. Not sure what the 2 different types of yellow fish are, either. There's some staghorn coral, though.
