That's Princess, my 1.5" N. Wennerae. I don't have a super recent picture of her. I'll try and get one sometime this week. She's kept in an Aquamedic Nano Wave 9 with her 3 stripe damsel "buddy" named Orca.

And that's Bo, my mom's G. Smithii. Also an "older" picture (got him in October), because he just recently molted. He still a little shy and delicate after the molt, but he should be back to normal in a few days where I can get a good pic of him and his "improved" aquascape he's been working on. :)

Welcome to 3reef and to the stomatopod club :D

They're very good mantises that's for sure :) It's stepho's fault that we have 2 mantis at home now  Oddly enough, our wenneraes are the same size essentially, but mine is super deep rusty read while his stands out like a bright neon sign :)

I would love a peacock one day. If I ever had a mantis collection, I'd be sure to have a spearer of some sort in there just for giggles, even if I wouldnt' see him as often as a smasher.

I would love to have a spearer, they look like a ton of fun to feed. My next mantis is definitely going to be an O. Havanensis though. My LFS has a really good deal on a used 20 long I am thinking about snagging.

I think our smithii thinks he's a spearer...he took out all 3 chromis in his tank over the course of about 2 weeks. He ate 2, but didn't finish the 3rd and tried to get rid of it. So I fed what was left to our brittle star in the 46 gallon reef
