    Newbie question here but how can you tell the difference. It looks just like my torch but not on a long "pedastal"

    Dont take my word for it (cause Im still a "newbie" too), but the torches I have seen have much thiner & straighter "tentacles" (1/8" in diameter, or so) with a small white ball at the end that isn't much larger in diameter then the "tentacle" inself.

    The frogspawn has thicker "tentacles" (some are almost 1/4" in diameter), and branch off of each other. They also have a purple ball at the end thats slightly larger in diameter then the "tentacle"

    Also, as you can tell from the pics, the frogspawns "tentacles" are much more sparatic in shape, size, & length whereas the torch is much more uniform.

    Can somone please correct me if "tentacles" is not the right word? They aren't considered polyps are they?

    frogspawn tenticales have more then one head, where as torch only have one.

    You do have frogspawn but from the first few pics, it looked like torch to me too

    yeah defeinetly frogspawn was just looking for more bumps on the tentacles, usually there is 3+ on frogspawn so it threw me for a loop, still a nice looking coral
