    POOR Ruffles :'(

    Make sure she gets cuttlebone for calcium, and I have a friend that has had some success treating her plucking birds with glucosamine (the joint health stuff, for arthritis, supports the cartilage which is made of keratin, as are bird feathers).

    She uses human grade capsules. You can sprinkle on wet food if they eat it. ;D. She gives mega doses but I am afraid of that...personally. You are so nice to rescue them ;D

    Thanks for the info, Birdlady! I really appreciate it! They are both coming along..still very timid though. I am very open to suggestions for treating the plucking. I think I may try the glucosomine. They really are sweet birds, they just need a lot of patience and understanding. It's aggravating when people get pets and then mistreat them! I also have a parrotlet (well, actually she's my B/F's) 3 parakeets and 3 finches. These are the first tiels I've ever owned. I think they'll be fine eventually. :)
