Mission, so you have a single 250W halide centered above the tank then?

Wow!! That's a lot of light above a 55G. Good for you! For everyone who says "ya just can't put 760W of light above a 55," tell 'em to check out your pics!!

    Do you run a chiller?

    Your tank is doing beautifully!

No chiller. Tank reaches 82 max. Summer will be a challenge. It's still cold in the Pacific Northwest(little snow yesterday). And it's roughly 13watts per gallon. I think it's too much, but, I guess the corals like it.

watts per gallon. yeah 13 is a bit much as far as wasted electricity goes but....... your stuff looks good casey. I wouldn't be complainin. If you think it's too much you could suspend the lights and get them up off of the water some. With that amount of light you could put those lights about a 12 - 18 inches off of the water and you would still be ok and that would help your heat issues.

I thought I was "SET" with the new lights I scored, but you have a crazy 14 watts per gallon.

I bought a Coralife 48" Aqualight Pro HQI fixture. It's got 4-96W PC's, two 150W halides and 3 LED's for night. It retails for about $850. I got a really good deal on it. That leaves me with a measly 7.6 wpg. on the new 90G tank. LOL. I feel somehow cheated now.

You are the king of light!!

ALL HAIL THE KING OF LIGHT!!!!!
