I ordered blue+ and purple+bulbs to put in my new quad fixture once it arrives. The bulbs arrived first and it gave me good reason to take a break from my finals studying.

So here are pics of the possible two bulb combinations that I could make. I know its hard to decide on bulbs when you only get two options, so hopefully this will help out someone!

The first picture is an Aquablue Special and a Blue+.

    Second is two Blue+

Third is an Aquablue Special and a Purple+

    Last picture is a Blue+ and a Purple+

I used my iPhone camera, so the actual tank is a bit brighter than what shows up in each picture.

Fantastic pics. I am really loving the two blue plus. If i may request that once you get your quad fixture you post pics with all four bulbs and the a pic if the two blue plus with the purple plus. This was the exact combo of bulbs I wanted and i just want to see if i should even get the aqua blue special. Thanks!

I'll definitely post some new pics once I get the quad fixture. It's my xmas gift, so it wont be until after the 25th sometime.

I also liked the two blue+ bulbs I was running. I just feel that the aquablue special is so overwhelming that it washes everything out, especially in a two bulb fixture. I currently have the blue+ and purple+ and it's definitely growing on me. It provides the full spectrum like the ABspecial without being too white and really makes the reddish colors pop more.

I only wish I knew how much PAR it emitted. I've only found numbers for the other ATI bulbs.

Im liking the blue+ and the purple+. It really makes ALL of the colors pop and you get good visibility without washing everything out. Thanks for the pics, I've been contemplating which combination bulbs to get and seeing this def. helps.

The Purple Plus is based on the Blue Plus with some red spectrum added in. It is most likely around the same as a Blue Plus.

Would a combination of 2 blue plus and 2 purple plus be good for my coral?

Glad to hear that the purple + was based off the blue+ bulb. Should give off plenty of PAR then :)

    And np on the pics!
