Since I know everyone likes pictures (me included), I thought I would throw up some pics of a light I have been putting together from fishneedit.com. The light has two 150w metal halide pendants and two (2 X 39W) T5 fixtures with actinic bulbs. The light is designed to be pieced together, which was helpful as I was able to buy a part at a time when in the budget. The total light cost was around $450.

I have been running the Metal halides for several months now and have been very happy with them. So for those of you who are interested, the pictures:

How are you liking them? I thought about buying t-5 or halides from them as well.

Nothing major for heat problems. The tank stays around 82 all the time and that is with just a 12v computer fan blowing onto the tank water. Most of my heat problems are because of living in Phoenix. I keep the house at 80 to keep the power bills down, today it was 109 outside so to keep the house any cooler cost a lot.

I really like the Halides, I upgraded from PC's so that could be partially why I see such a big difference. For the price though, $129 a pendant they have been great no regrets so far.

I went with the 14K bulbs, looking back though I think I would have liked the 20k bulbs.
