I only have about 30 lbs. or so of LR in my 120 gal tank and obviously want to add alot more. I've seen some tanks where the LR is kinda leaning against the back glass. I mean some big pieces! Is this ok to do? Is there any advise for this as it would leave more space in the front and more caves and such in the back. Thanks.

I lean a few puonds aginst the glass in my tank (20 gallon) but think that if you can make the rock stand off the back glass by gluing them to smaller pices to help stabilize them would be better. the reason is you will get better flow and be able to see your fish more without haveing the extra stress on the glass IMO.

Can you be more specific in how you glue them and with what?

you caould drill small holes into the rock and use PVC and gorilla glue before you place it into the tank and make almost any design you want. you can use gorilla glue before it is in the water and glue pices that way. also another design I have seen is to take egg-crate and ziptie the rack to the eggcrate and stand the eggcrate up aginst the back wall of the tank.

here are a few sight to give you ideas. I would read through the first one and use the second for any ideas about placing it all.

I have live rock leaning against my back glass. I do try to minimize the amount touching the glass to keep the water flow moving around it.
