    Beyond the phyto/zooplankton issue, I'm just going to point out that the skimmer should be off during feedings of any plankton.

    you need phyto feast or a similar product. as long as it is live phyto. marinesnow will not cut it.

    I have never fed a clam... I have 5 happy and healthy ones too...

    Yeah this can go for ever I'm not getting into it :lol:
    EDIT: I have 3 kind of clams Maxima, Crocea & Derasa. Other's are fine only the maxima is acting up

    That doesn't mean they're not eating. The fact that phyto can be created in a DT/fuge/sump is enough to sustain clams. It's just that you can't necessarily rely on these methods without knowing for sure that your fuge is creating a steady supply of phyto, for instance.

    To be honest, I can't tell but a fresh water dip is also used to treat pinched mantle sooooo :)

    I don't turn my skimmer off when I feed plankton of any kind. It's not that efflicient. :)
