    Its hard to see but a few branches has a little brown algae on them. Marine Depot said if there is too much fluctuation in PH that can cause it. My ph goes from 7.8-8.1. I think maybe just a little too much food over the last few days? I also moves the power head so it is not directly above it. I have him about12 inches under the XM 20,000k 150 watt MH bulb.

    My question was answered but I am still having algae on it so just looking for any other answers I could try

    If you are concerned about it spreading you could break the tip w/ the algae off and then "cauterize" the wound w/ reef glue, I've seen that work.

    If I broke of the piece with the algae, what would happen if I did not cauterize it? Would it eventually die? 2 blue legged hermits are eating the algae and making it look better. I suppose they will keep eating as long as it has some algae.Is there a chance the algae is green cyano? I can not blow it off with a turkey baster.
