I have a pink lined goby, not sure of the scientific name, it has bold pink lines on it's face, really thin pink lines on it's body, and a pink/orange dot on it's tailfin. I am having a problem getting it enough food. It is always hungry and tries to eat large pieces of food, but can't chew them up; it tries for over 5 minutes sometimes to chew up food and ends up spitting it out. Here is a list of what I've tried feeding it:

    Formula 1
    Mysis shrimp
    Fresh clam
    Fresh shrimp
Cyclops (won't really go after them)

Non of the other tank mates bother the goby. The goby is starting to look bad and I can't imagine it will last for more than a couple days like this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried flake food? How small is this fish that it can't eat mysis?

it's about 3 inches long. Its size is not the problem. If i feed mysis, it will only grab the largest ones, sit there and chew on it for a few minutes, then spit it out. It is having trouble swallowing it seems. It does this with all foods. I will try flake tonight.

hehe, that does fit the description, but is nowhere close. Here is a pic of the goby. This is when it looked healthy; it is very skinny right now.

I just tried flake food and it doesn't relly want much to do with it, I even tried to mix red flakes with red formula1 food, but it isn't fooling the goby at the moment.

You can try feeding the Reef Prime frozen food. It has a mix of all sorts of marine goodies. hmmm...seems this is an older post...Update?
