i got this ORA frag about 10 weeks ago and I have not noticed any growth. It still looks just like when i bought it. I have a few leathers in the tank and run ferric oxide and carbon. I do weekly water changes. Cal-420, Ph is 7.8 - 8.2, ALK - 9-10. I have a large wild purple monti that gets a lot of growth. What other things could be preventing the pink monti from growing? I have a 46 gallon with 2 150 watt MH bulbs. 14K phoenix bulbs.

Monti caps for me have been finicky at first. I bought a small frag of and it took several months before I noticed it starting to grow. I now have a purple frag of one and haven't noticed it growing either. I just let it go, it will start growing when it's ready.

Anyone think if I removed the monti from its frag disk and placed on the rock if that would help?

I am thinking that these aquacultured frags just don't do well compared to wild caught montipora

I have a couple SPS that I just don't think like my tank. They haven't grown since the day I got them. Everything else is growing nicely.

"I don't know, Squidward. Maybe he just doesn't like you!"

But flow would be a good place to start.

it has white around edges but just does not get any bigger. It gets enough flow and light and I feed the fish every day.

plus the purple grows faster than the red. i had the same thing happen and then did some research and found out that this is not particularly out of the ordinary. green has the slowest growth.
