pink sand!

    i would leave it, i doubt it looks that bad and chances are it will leave on its own.

    I though the same thing at first, but the reason I even posted it is because its been so long. its been almost a year now and it won't go away. tomorrow Im going to get a new maxi filter pump... I need my water to cycle faster. So hopefully it will help out. otherwise I might just replace the sand.

    It did. I increased the flow and then stired the sand. After about a week it was back to normal.

    EDIT: I wouldn't replace the sand stir it up and point a powerhead at it. Should be good to go.

    I'll try that today then, its not like its ugly, But I just want it pure white.. any idea of what the pink actually was?

    I think it's cyano. My guess is you have just enough nutrient for it to survive but not enough for it to turn into that nasty slimey stuff.
