I have plenty of bristle worms for him to snack on. Plenty of pods (for now) and a ton of small white snails that I bet he'll take a liking too.

He eats flakes and the like too, but I am sure he prefers the former. The tank has been cultivating bristle worms without predators for 2.5 years, so he should be fat and happy in no time.

Will he feed on tiny white brittle/serpent stars? I have hundreds.

    Pseudocheilinops ataenia, yes.

For what sized tank? Not likely it'll eat either bristle worms nor any micro stars. Wrasses are generally smart enough to avoid a mouthful of spines...

He's in my 20 right now. I'm cycling my 55. Too bad about the stars/worms, I have plenty to go around.

Are frozen mysis a good choice?

So a diet of flakes and pellets probably wouldn't suffice then? I'll have to get my LFS to order smaller mysis. All he carries are the jumbo mysis.

Will they feed on/require nori or any form of algae?

It wouldn't surprise me if he could. I tired the jumbo and no one could eat it, so I traded it in for some brine, which has no nutrition. Those jumbos were the size of a staple.

I'll have to try some nori. I wonder if he'll pick at the little hair algae I have on my powehead.

Nice fish. I've had one in my 29g for 2.5 years and he's easily my favorite fish in the tank. But be careful at night not to move any rocks because they sleep in the tiniest little crevices:) I love how they can go from orange to red in a few seconds. As far as feeding I feed mine mysis and high quality pellet. I don't believe they require algae but mine seems to love the crustaceans that hang out around the algae

It the shrimp it to big he will just smash it against a rock. All my wrasse eat nori these day but I don't think its all that necessary.
