I am wondering if anyone has any expierence with using any of the various pin point monitoring devices.

What i am wondering is if these are worth the money being cvharged for them and if the function as designed? Or should i stick with the normal dropper testers?

Any personal expierence would be greatly appreciated.

I have two of them, a PH and a Cal monitors. My ph is working just fine and I've had it for 8-10 months. The Cal one is not working correctly, I think I have to replace the tip element. Some ppl like them and some dont. I for one like them, it saves some time of having to deal with the test viles and drops. The only draw back is two things(IMO) one is that you need to calibrate the probes once in a while and second is that when its time to replace the probes, they are expensive. For ex. the ph probe is like $50.00 and the Cal tip is around $100.00

I couldn't live without my PH monitor. But I use it to monitor PH effluent in my CA reactor.

I haven't heard too many good things about the CA monitor. It works but it's a lot of work to maintain

I got a pH pinpoint and I love it. Easy to calibrate and I use the adaptor also. Batteries cost to much.

so i guess now my next question is for those that use them are they worth the money or if you had to do it over again would you use the standard testers?

I'll be honest, as for the PH unit, yes. I havent used the PH tester in a while. Not the same case with the Cal unit. Right now the Cal is reading 20.45 when in reality, its about 420(I tested yesterday). I dont know if I got a bad unit or not, but this one isnt working correctly. It did when I first got it thou. To replace the the tip, it costs $100.00(if you buy it from AMI) or round $80.00 from Ebay. Bottom line, if you dont mind doing the manual tests, you'll save alot of money, so dont get it. If you want to take the chance and are lazy, maybe you should try it. I hope this helps, Luna.

Yes I would but it again. I got mine for under a $100 and that is with extra calibration fluid and the adapter.
