My ph monitor does the weirdest thing. before the lights go on and after they turn off the monitor works fine. My actinics turn on first, the monitor fluctuates, when my MH's go on, it just displays 1. Does anyone have or had this problem before? I dont understand the connection between the lights and the monitor. Or could it be with the electricity? I wait anyone's exp. Thank you

Have you check your wall plugs to see if they have the right polarity and if they are grounded??

pH swings due to lights right?? I've always heard pH is different with the lights out, then when on? Could that not be what is happening? Just in an instance? May sound strange but??

Stray voltage is the cause of this.. The probe just sends out millivolts and the resistance as measured in the M.V send out and return across the tip of the probe like radar kind of but not LOL It will cause P.H and ORP and any probe to do this.. Some are just more sensitive then others depending on the resistance of the element its set up to read. With the fluorescence tubes the electricity dances along the outside of the tube and is finding a path to ground . Tank have ground probe ???

A saltwater proof metal probe that goes in the tank or sump and then is connected to a electrical ground of the house electric system.. some come with a special plug or a eyelet to connect to the wall receptacle plate screw that is if the wall receptacle is properly grounded some older homes and building are not.. Most all fish supply places sell them
