Can I give you some good advice? If your going to start a Reef tank, your going to need better test kits. Those test strips are garbage IMO. What kind of lighting do you have and how old are your bulbs?

I use salifert test kits I only use the strips as a guide because I dont allways have time to take to do those longer tests. I test once a month with the kits and twice a week with the strips and have never had a problem. My tank is a year old my bulbs are about
5 mo old I use aqua medic fixture and ballist and XM 150w 20K bulbs.
I will test in morn I have to goto airport to drop off aunt at 5am so I am beet!!!!
    My last tests are
    ammo 0
    nitrite 0
    nitrate 35
    PH 8.2
    salt 1025
alk 11 ( I found the chart and my good kit will test in morning)
    phos .03
    cal 450
    mag 1290
    iodine .03
    strontium 10

athe flow is kinda high I added 2 power heads to the tank setup.
    a 250gph and a 100gph and I alternate them.
They were great before I moved aroud the rock work
I didnt move them but there was a curved rock next to it blocking some of the light

Try to put them back where they were before and lower the flow a bit on them.
