    im just concerned because im setting up quite a large long and wide tank but an equally large sump. and im all for check valves but ive heard some poor reports on here about them clogging up with hard minerals but why not have one that you can take out with union valves and then have one on stand by while the other soaks in vinegar.

    im sure it will be fine all my other tanks have been fine without any holes drilled into the return.
