Yesterday saw our little flame goby's tail sticking out of our pistol shrimp's hole and assumed he must have stressed out and died after our slug-powerhead incident.

Today I found him wandering aimlessly on the sandbed near the shrimp's home. His body looked virtually untouched - except for both of his eyes completely missing!

Anyone with pistol shrimps had issues with their pistol shrimp attacking fish? Or is ours just vindictive over his own blind state?

Most likely the fire fish is sick and the pistol decided to help himself to a meal. I hope you ended the fire fish's misery.

    1+ agreed.

    P. shrimps normal hide when a fish swing overhead or anywhere near them. But if it’s dying all bets are off.
