Hey all. I bought a tiger pistol shrimp for my watchman goby a little while ago and now i just noticed i have another little one living in a hole in a piece of live rock. I see him at night in the hole and I even put a piece of mysis next to the hole and watch him come out and grab it. i cant get a picture of it but i found one online that looks exactly like it. i just wanna know if anybody has any info on this kind of pistol shrim like how big they get and if they pair up with gobys. Thanks, Tyler

I was researching it more and it looks like its a pistol that can pair up with gobys and might get to be 3" tops. Hope this helps some. :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
What ever type of shrimp it is, it is very cool. Love those kind of hitch-hikers. The coloration makes me think some type of commensal shrimp, try googling " commensal shrimp and you might get lucky with an ID. Far too many different kinds of shrimp to even guess. Very cool though

So I was looking it up more. Try looking up this scientific name: Alpheus parvirostris

I think he belongs to the genus: Alpheus.

Here is a link of the wikipedia site for the Genus: Alpheus

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpheus_(genus)

I'll keep looking around for ya. :)
