    Hi everyone ;D

A little advice if possible please :)

Yesterday I went to a LFS over here in England. I found a pistol shrimp which is rare in my area! I was very interested as I have a convict Blenny. Obviously I asked a lot of questions before buying to make sure it would be okay for my tank. One question I asked was "Is he okay with other shrimp as I was aware some were not like it not being a good idea to add a boxer shrimp with cleaner shrimp" (almost exactly my question) He said "Oh yeah, no problem at all" & then talked about the partnership with certain fish. On that advice I purchased it & he is my tank. It was only after hearing him shoot his claw a few times I decided to google him & I'm not too happy with what I have found! Does anyone have any experience with this or suggest I remove it while I know where its den is?

    Thanks all :D

I don't think they are safe with other shrimp, and make sure he is compatible with your gobie if you want to pair them up.

I was told he was compatible but now I am unsure as the shop owner also told me he was fine with other shrimp! I will keep investigating :)

    Thanks

Some have luck and don't have problems with them killing other shrimp but personally I lost my cleaner less then a week after adding the pistol. How big is the pistol?

The Pistol is roughly 1 - 1 1/2 inches & is currently on the opposite side of the tank to the cleaners. The tank is 5ft long so I'm wondering if he will stay out of the way. My cleaners are full grown.

My pistol is larger roughly 2 inches maybe a little more and was also on the opposite side of the cleaner but was a 4ft tank. Either way what starts as a small den will most likely turn into a luxury condo lol. No lie it is 2/3s length of the tank has restructured my rock some and has a mound of extra sand like 7inches high lol.

It sounds awesome but I like the collection of others more.

I may have to get him out while I still have the chance.

    Thanks for your advice :)
