Pistol Shrimp Missing Claws- Will they grow back?

I just got back from vacation an when I looked into my nanocube my water was a bit low, so I filled it up and removed the surface skimmer plate only to find my pistol shrimp was somehow caught in it.

He was moving, but I think his claws may have gotten sucked into the filtration portion by the current and he now has no front claws

Does anyone know if they will grow back and if not, will he be able to dig/ feed himself?

 

If water quality is good he should recover with the next couple molts, he should be able to fend for food just fine.

Any idea how it lost it's claws? or was it purchased as such?

 

I'm pretty sure it was because it got caught in between my modular surface skimmer and the grate behind it. I don't know how long it was there as I was on vacation for the last 4 days and I think that the force of the water may have ripped them off.

I'm not real happy about it, but I'm glad to hear they will grow back.

 

How's everything going with your pistol?
