It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I myself never had any issues with the Pistol harming other shrimp or fish.

Most other shrimp live within the rock work, a Pistol lives under the rock work and in the sand bed for the most part.

Not saying it does not happen but I never had an issue.

Talked to the LFS that I will be purchasing from. They have tiger pistol shrimp in with the YWGs. So, I will be definitely buying a YWG and if I see a pistol that I like, I will get one of those as well.

That being said, is there anything between now and Sunday that I could or should be doing to my tank to prepare for them? My rocks are sitting on the bottom, not on the sand. I have some places that are like caves on the sand bed. I got some Instant Ocean Reef Accelerator last night to try to replenish some of the calcium, mag, iodine, and trace elements that may have been depleted because I know shrimp need some of those. Anything else?

I have a tiger pistol named Tony and a YWG named Rorschach, I have had them and they have been paired for a year now :). It just happened and I did nothing to facilitate it, just got lucky. I did not buy them as a pair originally but within a month they were best friends and living together. For the first month they didn't hang out much. Make sure you have a deep enough substrate for the pistol to safely burrow otherwise your rockwork might slip and crush your Goby and Pistol... Good luck and I'm sure you'll be happily surprised.

I feed Frozen Mysis and Formula 1 (because it sinks) and they have been fine for a year now. Such a COOL symbiotic relationship.

I also have a True Perc and RBTA paired up :) im just a lucky guy I guess. Hope you are too.

I'm so happy I found this forum! I learn something new every day! This sounds very cool. You are a lucky guy Llubel :) Clown and anemone - what I'm going for eventually.

i have pink spotted goby and pistol shrimp paired always, but i hate them. apart from digging sand everywhere and disturbing rock work, they never show up. may be once in week I watch them, good for biocube or smaller tanks but i think its of no use to keep them in larger tanks.

So is a Goby without a shrimp more social or will he hide constantly? Trying to build a stock list so info appreciated.
