My only problem with my now huge pistol shrimp is that when he burrows under my rocks he causes everything to move like an earthquake, the other day he caused an avalanche of rocks that killed my emerald crab, poor little guy didn't have a chance. Now im trying to figure out how to catch him to get him out of my tank. If anyone wants a free large pistol shrimp let me know!

What do you guys feed your pistols or how do you feed them? We picked up a pistol/high fin red banded goby combo today. happy day.

I have been tryin to get one for weeks to go in my 41g fluval. I have a small tiger paired with a yellow watchman in a smaller tank and they are great.... Ill take it if you want... And what kind is it?

If I can catch the little rascal I would be more than happy to send him to a good home.

Pistol shrimp are cool - but I saw a small (2inch) reddish-blue mantis for the first time at my LFS today. I think I'm going to set up a 5G species tank and keep him in my office at work :) Very strange but cool little guy.

Mantis will probably outgrow a 5 gallon.

It will - but it will take a while. As it grows I'll move it to a larger tank. This is just a tiny little guy. It's around 1 1/2 - 2 inches long. Rock arranged nicely and a small PC light should work well on a 5 gallon for some time.

I bought a yellow watchman with a pistol shrimp and they went their separate ways when i dropped them in the tank, but after about a month they found each other. Now the pistol just stays under his little rock and the goby stays outside the door. Kinda boring actually.IMO
