Pistol/ watchman problem?

So i have a a watchman goby that has been in my tank for a few months now. I got a Michaels pistol shrimp so he would have a buddy. What i read about them they should get along well , however i got the shrimp and put him in the tank yesterday and now the poor watchman has come out from under the rocks and is hiding under my leather cabbage. Any suggestions on how to get them together. the shrimp has taken over the rocks area and he is tunneling everywhere. We here his claws making very loud popping sounds alot ( mainly when other fish get near his home surroundings) Help

 

They may not pair up. They will need time to get together if they do.
