If your monti is turning white and you have him up top in your system he is getting to much light and dying, BUT however if just the edge is turning white thats how they are ( Signs of new growth)
First i would lower him abit, and she how he goes from there

400 ppm is near the higher end
Maybe higher end of the low side....

But should be around 440 ppm .....

Anyway.. I had a piece that got knocked down, when I found it the whole end was white..
It took a while, but colored back up.. You add anything for filterfeeders..?
But like the others, I think you need to get it where it likes the lights..

    Good Luck, Larry

that is the problem is the halides over the t5s depending on the t5 set up t5's can and will bleach corals out. t5's are actually have better par readings then halides... the problems is getting the correct bulb set to get what you want for growth and colors. I would bet my money on to close to the t5s. what fixture and or bulbs do you run how many ect...... I will dig up a post on this.

    http://samsreef.com/component/option,com_zoom/Itemid,27/page,view/catid,4/PageNo,1/key,0/hit,1/ thats for t5s

I bleached my birdsnest with my tek 6x54w fixture. T5s can easily bleach a coral, if it is bleached, then the best thing to do is move it lower. It will take several months to fully recover, but should color back up eventually. Again, a picture would really help. Do you still see polyps or is it just bare skeleton.
