    I don't know what leds your working with, but this is not at all my experience with leds. It also really depends on how you are running them, if it's running at 1watt it probably is a 3watt led and is run at 1watt to keep it cooler. If you look up leds all the manufacturers tell you that heat will dramatically shorten the life of your led. A lot of these leds will get a lot hotter than most people think.

    I was thinking about the ecoexotic stunner strips. I wonder if they have any small heat sinks inside. I doubt it though.

    Does your light have a cooling fan?? Is so you should be alright I built a led light strip with 15 1 watt LEDs for my 6 bulb t5 fixture and it's just fine has been for over 6 months, but yes heat and anything electronics do not mix!!
