Just bought a nice group of Pipe Organ corals (tubipora musica) but am not sure where to place them in the tank. The information I came accross so far is very contradictory. Is it best near or at the bottom, medium or high level (where they get more light) and in a high or low flow zone?

Right now they are about 7" below the surface and getting some agitation for the HOB filter outlet above it. They wer all closed yesterday after bringing them home and placing them in the tank but most have opened up today and now look as I saw them in the store. So it might be ok where they are.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

If they are happy where they are at don't change a thing.

If they are happy, leave them. They will let you know if they are unhappy.

That said, mine liked being mid level.

I kept mine mid level with a moderate flow. But as they reach up and the skeleton grow wider and taller it becomes brittle in the lower portion of the skeleton with the calcium breaking down and being re-assorbed in the water. Then sponges took up home in the steleton. I had to trim the bottom of the skeleton to prevent it from toppeling.

If its happy do as others suggested let it be.
