    wow thanks for all the information guys!

    I spotted some nice Zoas at my LFS the other day. Where in the tank should I place it? Start on the sand bed and see what happens?

    Also, I had a significant amount of dead GSP's on my live rock when I purchased it . Here is a link to the thread: http://www.3reef.com/forums/live-rock/purple-bumps-live-rock-102323.html

    Since the cycle, it has started to decay and has created a lot of debris. Would it be a bad idea to take it out and rinse it off in some saltwater?

    done that myself with odd pieces of rock, now and again, with no consequences

    you dont want to be taking to much rock out at any 1 time, but the odd piece for a clean is no problem IME

    a screw driver is very useful in this situation IME, you can use that to chip/scrape away at the items on the rock you dont want (In my case it was vermatid snail tubes that I scrapped off)
