Just curious to know if anyone had any good plans on DIY skimmers. Preferably one that hangs on the back.

I'm excited to build one, just need to find the right plans. I haven't googled anything yet, I wanted to ask everyone here first. :)

    Thanks everyone!

To be honest, I have never actually seen o0r heard of a DIY skimmer. I would think that it might be very complicated to make properly as it could be difficult to appropriately use the venturi effect.

Skimmers arent that much money though, so if your trying to do it DIY to save money then I think you are in for more trouble than what its worth.

Depending on your tank you can get some cheap hang on the back ones for less than $20.

I may be late on this reply, but I made one once upon a time. It was 3 feet tall, used an air stone at the bottom, and I siliconed a tupperware bowl to the top for a collection cup. It actually worked, but for $140.oo I found an Eshoppes HOB that did 10 times the job and fit into a space of about 1.2 feet.
