Plant or coral?

    Can anyone tell me what the green stuff on the left of the picture is please. It is not soft like a plant but quite hard and course to the touch.
    It just grew by itself, it started slowly and now it is growing fairly quickly.Thank you.

    After some research it looks like it could be Halimeda.

    yep looks like a halimeda to me too

    Halimeda, if runs out of nutrients it can kill off your tank when it dies. Keep it trimmed back if you like it in your tank. The trimming and throwing away what you trim will be a good form of nutrient removal. If the green starts looking like spots on white remove all of the Halimeda immediately as this means it is dying.
