I have a planted discus tank. Although my plants are not dying, they are not growing either.

    I dose with seachem products.

Before you ask, my light is not as strong as it should be & I am not in a position, financially, to do anything about it @ this time. It is quite embarrassing to have to say that.

Are there any suggetions or am I stuck for now ?

I might add that the discus are doing wonderfully.

You are stuck until you can upgrade the light.

My vallesneria is growing slowly, but there are new shoots coming up. My crpts are growing very well as is my red parrot leaf & ground cover. I say my tank is a 26 gallon, but it is only 15" deep. Could that make a difference ? I run my light for 12 hours/day. Would increasing the hours of light help ?I inject CO2 & dose with seachem products.

Would the fact that my tank is only 15" deep make a difference ?

No one answered my question about my tank depth.

2in10 is correct, you need a better light, regardless of the tank depth. Crytps will grow with very little light.

As long as nothing is dying right now..I wouldn't stress over your light. Just get one when you can. t5 fixtures are getting relatively cheap though..so when you do decide to make a purchase you could get a decent 2-bulb fixture for $100 or less, depending on the length, that would be plenty of light for everything.

    Good luck!
