I have a fungia plate coral and it hasnt shown any PE for the past week, I did recently move it and was wondering what was wrong. All my params are good and other corals are happy so I am assuming its either too much light or too much flow. What do you think?

it could still be getting used to your tank..and since you moved it again, now its gotta used to it again..all plate corals i have seen in peolples tank have been on the sand bed and they can take alot of light..i would say flow first, and then lighting..

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    +1

Where did you place it? Make sure no livestock is throwing sand on it. Perhaps post a picture if it does not turn around soon.

Will do, I doubt its a light issue because its only like 2inches off the sand bed, also there have been a few grains of sand here and there but not alot

yea just give it time..some corals are just real picky and need a little more time to get comfy..if you start seeing health problems then yeah i would turn to an alternative..

Be careful with them with regard to placement other than placement on the sand bed. The tissue underneath is very easy to tear on rock work, probably the reason you see most on the sand bed.

Wait so I can place the coral directly on the sand? I thought I had to have a rock under it

no, i would place it on the sand..

i have never seen a plate coral on rocks..they are super easy to hurt..and some people even suggest not having them with clowns since they can tear them up bad when the try and host..

yep..that may the problem..the sharp rocks are upsetting it..i have seen them under huge amounts of light and with flow that kept it at a really solid sway..if that makes sense..
